QWEEN

Haitian American rising artist, Bianca Chery, professionally known as, Qween Ali, was born in Newark NJ and raised in the city of Boston MA. Qween’s upbringing was nothing short of perfect , raised by a single mother of 3, she spent her time in church singing in the choir with her brothers, praise dancing and in bible study. Outside of church , Qween spent most of her time with her cousins and brothers who were really into making skits and rapping over YouTube beats. She was fascinated by various artists including “Missy Elliot, Ciara ,Foxy Brown, Nicki Minaj” the list goes on. The aesthetic of the music videos she would watch growing up on 106&Park captured her attention and has shaped her creative vision now. Qween started writing poetry not realizing how it would shape who she is now. “I wanted to express myself , noted down all my thoughts and feelings. Painting the picture visually came long after”.

She started making a name for herself from her first single “Cappin” released on SoundCloud in 2018 turned a lot of heads — the dynamic rhymes and fearless deliverance — started her debut as a Female rapper. With all eyes on her , Qween Ali , release a 3 track EP in 2019 “Qweendom” which was then followed up with a single and visual to “Here I Am”. Expressing who she is and the choices she made as a teen that shaped who she is now as a woman , a mother , and an artist. “ I showed a vulnerable side to me that I don’t really allow people to see. I didn’t want to be looked at as being soft especially as a female in this music game , everyone is looking at you as being strong and hard all the time. I wanted this song to touch people who might’ve gone through the same ups and downs I did growing up. Looking back I’m proud at myself for sharing that side of me. It allows me to remember where I was then and where I am now, I’ve definitely grown as a person and an artist”

Qween Ali has since then dropped some fun records with colorful , bold visuals like “Sex Talk” (2020) & “Underrated” (2021) where the message to her fans are to continuing being unapologetically themselves and have fun doing it. That’s where the series of freestyles called “Qweenstyles” came from.  “I really missed being able to just remix beats and rap on them for fun, back then that’s what we were all doing to instrumentals anyways. Making music is suppose to be fun , I didn’t wanna lose myself so I started Qweenstyle’s just for me to challenge myself and look sexy while doing it”.

Qween unveils her second EP “ME VS ME” (2022) with visuals to track 3 “Reborn” and bonus track 7 “No Smoke”. The project, a story about two different personalities battling between each other mentally. One side “Qween” who wants to put out the vulnerable side of who she is , she wants to emotionally express what she battles with everyday mentally, not feeling heard , traumatized by loved ones, and spiritually healing. Whereas “ALI” wants to protect Qween by saying “expressing yourself has gotten us nowhere, save those feelings, put them in your music , say f*ck em all and stand on business , becoming heartless in this life saves us from disappointments , we started this together we only need each other and no one else”. “I would say it’s like I got an angel on one shoulder and a savage on another”.

Qween Ali is proving herself to be versatile. She strives to inspire people all over the world with her creativity. Her work is nowhere near done , she believes there’s no limit to what you can achieve.
